We, Nedstat B.V. ('Nedstat'), acknowledge and respect an individual's right to privacy.

Our Privacy Policy explains how Nedstat handles your personal data.

1. Introduction
We, Nedstat B.V. ("Nedstat") , measure visits to websites in order to increase their efficiency.

The measuring of visits to websites of our customers is covered in our Sitestat or Nedstat Pro privacy policy. The provisions below apply to measuring visits to our own website and to other data you provided to us.

2. Measuring data
We measure visits to our websites in order to increase their efficiency. The measuring data may contain personal data, in particular IP-addresses and/or cookies. These are discussed below.

IP-addresses
An IP-address is a series of numbers that identify computers on the internet. IP-addresses can theoretically be linked to an individual. Such linking requires additional information (particularly from the internet provider who issued the IP-address or from the visitor himself). For that reason IP-addresses are considered personal data.

Nedstat does not link IP-addresses of visitors of our websites to individuals.

Nedstat uses IP-addresses of visitors of our websites for internal research and promotion purposes. In addition, we use the IP-addresses to update an IP-database which is required for our services. This database contains the following information:

  • which domain name is linked to the IP-address and the registered owner thereof;
  • the owner's type of organisation (government, ICT, education, etc) and geographic location;
  • the geographic location of the IP-address (city or larger geographic unity);
  • the type of connection of the IP-address to the internet (cable, ADSL, etc).

IP-addresses of visitors of our websites are not provided to third parties, unless these are anonimised and aggregated first.

Cookies
A cookie is a small file that is stored on the computer of a visitor when he visits a website. If he visits the website again, the cookie shows that it is a repeat visit. Because the visitor is recognized though the cookie, cookies are considered personal data. In addition, cookies may contain personal data themselves.

Cookies issued by Nedstat contain merely a unique number and therefore contain no personal data. They have a lifetime of 5 years.

Nedstat does not link cookies to individuals.

Nedstat uses cookies only to recognize repeat visits.

Cookies issued by Nedstat cannot be used to trace your surfing behaviour across other websites than Nedstat websites.

It is often possible to configure your web browser to refuse cookies or to be informed if a cookie is set. We refer to the manual of your web browser.

3. Other data
In case you provide personal data to us yourselves, for example on a web form, though e-mail or in a contract, we will use such data only for the purpose for which the data has been provided. This includes contacting you to inform you of developments if we expect these to be relevant to you.

4. Storage
Nedstat will store personal data no longer than is necessary for the purpose for which it has been collected.

5. Legislation
In the Europe Union, the processing of personal data is governed by Directive No 95/46/EC of 24 October 1995 (OJ EC L 281). The directive is available at http://europa.eu.int/. Said Directive underlies the legislation of the countries of the European Union. For the United Kingdom, that is the Data Protection Act 1998 (the 'Act'). 7. Amendments to this privacy policy
Nedstat reserves the right to amend the content of this privacy policy. If Nedstat changes the policy to increase our rights to use your personal data, you will be notified on our website of such changes and we will only apply such wider uses to personal data we obtain after the date that the policy was changed.
